· We provide an alternative learning environment · We are a voluntary program · We assist in credit recovery · We provide an individualized schedule toward a standard high school diploma · Our graduates receive Miami High School diplomas and participate in MHS graduation exercises · Our students may participate in activities, athletics, and classes at MHS · Our students have opportunities to gain credits in Work Study programs · Our students have opportunities to participate in Vocational/Technical programs · Our students receive counseling services and Life Skills classes · We provide smaller classroom sizes · We seek to provide individual instruction, timely interventions, and immediate feedback · We use self-paced, computer-assisted learning ( NovaNET ), textbooks, online assignments, Individual and small group learning activities among our teaching strategies · We provide differentiated instruction practices · We seek to engage students and create active, life-long learners · We believe that all students can learn · We believe in different learning styles and multiple intelligences · We are a culture of learning with high expectations and confidence in our students
